Everyone in the group has been working away diligently on blankets of assorted sizes for Project Linus. We will be donating the blankets to the Hamilton branch of the project in mid-April. After that we will be getting started on a new project…making toys! Casting On for a Cause will be knitting and crocheting toys to send to orphanages in Ethiopia. If anyone knows of people who are travelling to orphanages to adopt a child please let me know so we can make some toys to send with them too!

Hi everyone! I thought you might like an update on what is going on with Casting On for a Cause. The group members have been working hard on making baby blankets for Project Linus. We will be donating the blankets in the next month so if you would like to donate a blanket you still have time, just get in touch with me and I will arrange to pick it up.

1st Project!

The group’s first project is to make baby blankets and hats for the Linus Project! We will be passing these along to Sally (from Casting Off the Cold) so she can donate them to the project for us. Hi everyone! My name is Erin and I am the organizer of a group called Casting On for a Cause. For those of you familiar with knitting you may have already guessed that my group does in fact have to do with knitting (and crocheting). Casting On for a Cause is a group of people who knit and crochet warm things such as scarves, hats, mitts, sweaters and blankets for people in need. We will be donating our projects to local shelters and charity groups. You may be wondering where “local” is for us. It’s Hamilton and the surrounding area.
